Last January, forty students from the 1st year of the Baccalaureate at IES Laudio BHI, who are studying Technology and Engineering, visited the Mungia plant as part of an educational project on transmissions and gears. This experience allowed them to learn first-hand about the manufacturing process of these fundamental components in industry.
The visit was part of the ‘Industria Erronka’ project, an initiative organised by the Biscayan Federation of Metal Companies (FVEM) in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Basque Government. The aim of this programme is to bring the industrial reality of Bizkaia closer to young students, awakening STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) vocations and promoting the key role of industry as the economic engine of the territory.
The Mungia plant, with a long history of collaboration with educational centres, has actively participated in this type of initiative, allowing students to visit its facilities and learn about the production processes up close.
At Gamesa Gearbox we are committed to inspiring new generations and fostering their interest in technological and industrial careers. We believe that collaboration between schools and companies is essential for young people to explore new opportunities and discover their vocation in the industrial world.
